A small black and white kitten was spotted stuck in a gate at Universal Studios. She found kindness in a bus driver and wouldn’t let anything slow her down.

A bus was on its usual route through the sprawling lots of Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, just another ordinary day of traffic and routine. But in the relentless Florida heat, the sharp-eyed driver behind the wheel noticed something small and desperate caught in an electronic gate.
She stopped the bus and climbed out. With gentle hands, she carefully freed a tiny kitten whose paws were raw, tail was rash worn, and body was dehydrated and trembling with fear from the metal jaws of the gate that had trapped her.

Nobody knows how long the kitten, named Sia, had been stuck there, baking under the sun, long enough for wounds to form on her tail and back feet. Had the driver passed by without really looking, the story might have ended differently
The driver reached out to Liberation Cat House, a rescue group dedicated to saving vulnerable cats and kittens like her. They had room to help, and without hesitation, they said yes. Just like that, the little cat’s luck began to change.

When she arrived at Liberation Cat house, she was assessed, stabilized, and given everything she had been missing: fluids, food, wound care, and the simple, profound gift of a safe place to rest.
Her injuries, though painful, were treatable. Nothing was broken, and with time and kindness, she was finally on the mend.

Once Sia was through the worst of it, once her wounds had begun to heal and her belly was full, a personality that had been quietly waiting inside her began to bloom. There was nothing tentative about her recovery. She did not tiptoe into it; she leapt in headfirst.
LoveMeow asked her foster caregiver, Jen Wood, how to best describe Sia. “A sassy girl with a strong spirit!”
Fearless from the start, Sia approaches new people with the kind of enthusiasm most cats would reserve for play. She greets the world with curiosity and a chattiness that borders on theatrical. The moment play begins, she purrs, dives in, and becomes, in the best possible way, impossible to ignore.

“This silly bean had a pretty rough entry into rescue life,” her foster team shared. “Being stuck in an electric gate in the hot Florida sun did not slow her down one bit.”
After her quarantine period, the rescue introduced Sia to another young kitten named Ostara, and the two have grown up together ever since, playing, napping, and exploring side by side throughout the foster home. It is a good life, a warm life, and now both girls are waiting for the family that will make it permanent.

Stories like Sia’s begin with a small, quiet act of kindness that costs almost nothing–one bus driver who looked twice.
They continue because of people like the volunteers at Liberation Cat house, who take the call, open their homes, and stay up through the night caring for a wounded kitten despite knowing how difficult rescue work can be. But it’s worth it every single time.

Sia came into this world of rescue scraped and frightened, with no reason to trust what came next.
Now she purrs, plays, and chirps at you until you pay attention to her, which you will, because she is utterly irresistible.
