Woman Helps Cat that Ended Up in Her Yard, But She's Not the Only One Who Needs Saving

A woman helped a cat that had ended up in her yard, but the cat wasn't the only one who needed saving.

A striking Snowshoe cat appeared in a woman's yard, rummaging for food and shelter.

Surprised to see such a beautiful and friendly cat on her own, the woman offered her a meal. The cat gratefully accepted and let the woman pet her. A few days later, she returned, patiently waiting outside. No one came forward to claim her, and it became clear that she'd been left behind.

With nowhere to go and no way to survive on her own, the woman reached out for help.

That's when Chatons Orphelins Montreal, a local animal rescue, noticed the request and stepped in to help.

"The person who volunteered for her transport told us that she had a large, hard belly, probably due to worms," the rescue shared. "But when Sissi (the cat) arrived, she was calm and sweet. She indeed had a large belly, but she was actually pregnant."

Sissi, estimated to be around four years old, still had the playful spirit of a kitten. She had a bite wound and a bit of fur loss on her back, signs of a rough life outdoors. Despite everything, she was gentle, calm, and trusting from the moment she entered her foster home.

She let her foster mom handle her easily. Her appetite was strong, and she seemed relieved to be safe.

They prepared a cozy, quiet nursery that Sissi approved immediately. "She craves attention and loves to stay close to her humans."

Just days later, Sissi gave birth to four healthy kittens—two boys and two girls—all within an hour and a half. She purred the entire time, comforted by her foster mom's presence.

"She showed complete trust throughout the delivery. Each kitten weighed between 115 and 140 grams. She was proud and purring."

The foster mom monitors the kittens' growth daily, ensuring they're nursing well and gaining weight. Meanwhile, Sissi is a devoted mother—feeding, cleaning, and tending to her babies around the clock.

Sissi rarely leaves their side and only steps away briefly for food. The moment she hears a kitten's cry, she's right back beside them. Each day, they grow a little bigger under their mother's constant care and affection.

One of the kittens is a tiny version of Sissi, while the others are charming little tabbies.

Whenever the foster mom enters the room, Sissi greets her with slow blinks, a gentle purr, and a happy roll onto her side. The room hums with joy as she welcomes any help in raising her last litter of kittens.

Thanks to a compassionate woman and a team of dedicated volunteers, five precious lives were saved.

In the weeks ahead, the kittens will open their eyes, take their first wobbly steps, and explore the world with wonder. As for Sissi, she'll never have to face another pregnancy or another night alone.

She will be cherished and loved, just as she always deserved.
